Stacey+Ryan | Boston Winter Elopement | Warehouse XI
Stacey + Ryan got married on the windiest, rainiest day in December. That morning, I quickly reached out to Warehouse XI in Somerville, and they graciously let us swing by and use their beautiful space in the morning. The white brick walls, iconic window, and twinkle lights were the perfect backdrop to these two! What’s funny is it wasn’t really raining while we were there, so we decided to head down to the Seaport to get some views of Boston in the background, and of course the minute we got there the skies opened up.
As a testament to the kind of couple Stacey + Ryan are, they were absolute troopers! They grabbed their umbrella, and at the end even ditched that and got absolutely soaked. We were almost done by the harbor when the rain turned into a complete downpour, and they trusted me enough to do one last shot where they ran into each others arms and twirled around. These turned into my favorites of the day, just showing the utter abandon that marriage requires, and the willingness to dance in the rain instead of run for cover.
Ryan asked Stacey to marry him with the same diamond his grandpa used to ask his bride decades earlier. Stacey is quiet and thoughtful, and Ryan is steady and kind. I was struck by these character traits when we had met up for coffee a month before, but they shined through even more on their wedding day. There wasn’t huge fanfare as these two started off life together as husband and wife. But there was an excitement in the air that was so sweet and simple, and I feel so honored that I got to be the witness.
