Olivia+Matt | Great Pond Mountain | Maine Wedding Photographer

Olivia and Matt are good friends of mine, and we go wayyyyyyy back. I grew up with Olivia’s family; making mud pies in the woods, telling each other new jokes (jk, they were the same ones every time), reading comic books, and fighting and playing with each other. I sort of knew Matt in high school from a totally separate friend group. Well, they got married a year ago, and over Memorial Day we got to hike a mountain in Maine and celebrate!

They had planned to hike a mountain on their actual anniversary, but it rained that whole day. I’m kind of glad it did, because getting to do that with them was super special. It had actually rained earlier in the day, so it was overcast and no one was out. We didn’t see a single soul on Great Pond Mountain…what we did see was 360 degree views, the sun peaking through the clouds, and bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. We basically had to run around the whole time so we didn’t get eaten alive! They re-read their vows to each other just as the clouds parted, and it was glorious.

These two have done a lot of hard work on their relationship, both as individuals and together, and it’s SO cool to know their story and see it to continue to unfold. They are the real deal. Matt and Olivia, you guys show the love of Jesus so well. You are both generous, bold, brave, and a hoot to be around. Thank you for letting me document year one for you guys. Year’s to many more years of adventuring together! With hopefully less gnats ;)
