Amberlynn+Ryan | The Barker Tavern | Boston Wedding Photographer
Amberlynn + Ryan were really hoping for a beach wedding, but you just never know what the weather will do in New England. Well, they got the MOST perfect, sunny day and really took the time to soak it all in.
After the girls got ready at a hotel in Rockland, we made the drive to the Scituate Yacht Club, where everyone had gathered for their ocean-front ceremony. I always love when I get to ditch my shoes and run around in some sand on a wedding day, and this was no exception. Ryan saw his bride for the first time coming down the aisle, and both of them were beaming! Ryan’s dad performed their ceremony (along with Ryan’s nephew who was THE cutest ring-bearer and gave a great assist) while their friends and family gathered around them. There were a few chairs, but for the most part people just stood where they wanted, giving the ceremony a laid-back, familial feel.
We took photos on the beach, then headed to Barker Tavern (which was right across the street) for intros, their first dance (there was a little Greek dancing in there too), and speeches. Then we jumped in the car again and drove to the Scituate lighthouse just in time for sunset. It was pretty magical to see the sun dip behind the horizon, turning the whole world orange and pink, and reflecting off the water. A+R took a stroll down the boardwalk, climbed out on the rocks, and got to show off their newly acquired bling to all the passersby. Then it was back to Barker Tavern for lots and lots of dancing!! This day was the perfect blend of laid back and fun, and I’m SO glad I got to be apart of it!
