Rebecca+John | Acorn Street Engagement | Boston Wedding Photographer
I met Rebecca and John at Tatte Bakery in Beacon Hill before our shoot, and then we headed to the magical land of Acorn Street with it’s iconic brick and cobble stones. As their wedding will be in LA, where Rebecca lives, they wanted to include Boston in their engagement photos, which I loved! We hit up Beacon Hill, the Boston Gardens, and lastly, the library (which we got kicked out of, oops). In chatting with them, I was so struck by their maturity, depth, and vision of their future life together. I’m so excited for these two to finally be united!
The story: John and Rebecca met while both living in Los Angeles, going on their first date just after Easter in 2015. John lived in Santa Monica, and Rebecca in Pasadena. They met over a glass of wine at Vertical Wine Bar in Pasadena, California. The two hit it off and a second dinner date soon followed, then a third date which ended in their first kiss, and after a month they decided to continue to “see where this goes.” John is a cyclist and Rebecca runs, so Saturday mornings are often outdoors whether that’s cycling and running or enjoying hiking together. They love music, new restaurants and especially humor- John is the playful one and Rebecca brings the wittiness. Most importantly, their faith in Christ is at the heart of each.
After a year of driving back and forth through the traffic of LA, John received a position with a company in Boston. Driving became flights across the country. As many know, long distance is not easy and a year of it ended the relationship. However, a few months later circumstance brought the two together again. This summer, John proposed at Descanso Gardens in LA which was one of their earlier dates, surprising Rebecca afterwards with their closest friends at the place where they first met (*high five John). They will soon call Boston home, and can’t wait to finally be living in the same place.
